Arrested Pakistani nationals in Jeddah innocent: FO

ISLAMABAD: The Foreign Office spokesman has said that arrested Pakistani citizens, accused of trafficking drugs in Saudi Arabia, have been proved innocent according to preliminary investigation.The spokesman said, the Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani, taking the suo motto action in this regard, consulted the leadership of MQM and issued directives to Interior Ministry to seek facts and evidences.Following the directives of PM Gilani, the preliminary probe into the case has turned in favour of accused persons, hoping the issue will be resolved through proper diplomatic channel soon, he added.He said Pakistani embassy in Saudi Arabia is in contact with Saudi government so that arrested persons could be brought with due honour and dignity.
